An international train from Tashkent has arrived in Kazan.

      Today at 13:47 local time the international passenger train Tashkent – Kazan – Tashkent arrived in Kazan. The train will operate on a new route that passes through cities such as Orenburg, Samara, and Ulyanovsk.

      The train was met by the Consul General of Uzbekistan in Kazan, Nodirjon Kasimov, and representatives of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tatarstan led by Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Management of the RT Marat Khisamutdinov. The deputy minister noted that after a many-year hiatus a direct, no-transfer international rail route has been restored. "The opening of the route will give a new impetus to further strengthening socio-economic cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Tatarstan," Marat Khisamutdinov emphasized, adding that the direct route is in high demand among residents.

      Head of the international services branch of JSC "Uzbekistan Temir Yullari" Shahobiddin Kadirov noted the speed and convenience of the trip: "If before we used to travel four days via Yekaterinburg, today we came via Samara, Orenburg and already after two and a half days we are here. All the passengers are satisfied."

      The train will run once a week: departure from the station on Sundays at 23:55, arrival at Kazan station on Wednesday at 13:47. The return service from Kazan will operate on Thursdays at 10:33, arriving in Tashkent on Sunday at 04:23. Travel time is 2 days 15 hours 52 minutes.

      The carrier is JSC "Uzbekistan Temir Yullari." The train consists of 7 cars (5 open-plan third-class sleeper cars (platskart), 2 compartment sleeper cars (coupe)) and is designed for 342 passengers.
