      In addition to administrative measures, 26 criminal cases were opened following the inspection. They are related to organizing illegal migration and the fictitious registration of foreign nationals.

      In Kazan, the results of another stage of a large-scale inspection aimed at combating the illegal stay of foreign citizens were summarized. The third stage of the operational-preventive operation “Illegal Migrant-2025” concluded with a series of raids on places of residence and work of migrants, during which law enforcement officers checked compliance with Russia’s migration legislation. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Tatarstan, the events resulted in the detection of 568 administrative offenses. The most common violations were failure to comply with entry rules and conditions of stay in the country (302 cases), as well as engaging in work activities without the necessary permit documents (51 cases). Decisions were made to forcibly expel 169 foreign nationals from the Russian Federation. In addition to administrative measures, 26 criminal cases were opened as part of the operation. They are related to organizing illegal migration and the fictitious registration of foreign citizens in the registration records. The operation is part of systematic work aimed at strengthening control over migration flows and ensuring compliance with the rules of stay on the territory of Russia. It was previously reported that from January 1, 2026, foreign citizens working in Tatarstan will have to pay significantly more for a patent. The corresponding decision was made by the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan. The calculation of the patent cost is based on the forecast of the average wage of migrants in the region, which in 2026 is expected to be 58,000 rubles and 77 kopecks.
