      The traditional "Yolki-Palki" campaign will start in Kazan on January 13 and will last until January 31. During this period, 17 collection points for old Christmas trees will operate in the city, and recycling collection points and yellow nets will continue to operate. This was reported at a staff meeting by the deputy head of the Kazan executive committee, Iskander Giniyatullin.

      "People are only just putting up their trees, but it's important to remind them about their subsequent disposal. Thanks to the regional operator for their 'Yolki-Palki' campaign, to the volunteers and the businesses supporting this campaign. Seventeen collection points is good, but we should strive to make the network of organized tree collection denser," said the head of the Kazan executive committee, Rustem Gafarov.

      During the campaign, residents will be able to hand in their old tree at one of 17 collection points for recycling. The event is organized by the management company "PZhKH" together with the volunteer movement "Clean Games."

      Sovetsky District:

      - MEGA (Prospekt Pobedy, 141);

      - Collection point (Rodiny St., 45);

      - Square of the 100th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Construction Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan;

      - Yaratam Residential Complex (Bukharskaya St., 32);

      - Malinovka Residential Complex (Akademika Zavoyskogo St., 21b).

      Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky Districts:

      - Chekhovsky Market (Chekhova St., 2);

      - Prospekt Pobedy metro station (Zorge St., 75);

      - Privilegiya Residential Complex (Bratyev Kasimovykh St., 35).

      Novo-Savinovsky and Aviastroitelny Districts:

      - Belye Tsvety Boulevard (Absalyamova St., 23);

      - Kontinent Park (Yamasheva St., 104, bldg. 2);

      - Lenta (Adoratskogo St., 21A);

      - Richmond Residential Complex (Privolzhskaya St., 210).

      "The beginning of the year is an excellent time to switch to a more eco-friendly lifestyle. A large amount of packaging left from New Year's tables can be sorted and placed in the yellow recyclables containers," urged Iskander Giniyatullin.

      In this regard, he reminded that three quarters of Kazan's courtyards are equipped with containers for collecting the five main recyclable fractions, as well as containers for textile collection. In total, more than 2,000 yellow nets and 226 textile collection containers have been installed in Kazan, the speaker reported.

      In addition to the yellow nets, large recycling collection points will operate throughout the holidays at: Rodiny St., 45; Vasil'chenko St., 6; Davydova St., 75; and Centralno-Mariupolskaya St., 49b. Recyclables from such bins and collection points reach recyclers faster, getting a second life and reducing landfill burial, the speaker added.

      "I join the calls to switch to more eco-friendly behavior and to celebrate the New Year more sustainably. Sorting waste, handing in recyclables and a thoughtful approach to our household behavior — these are things we will be able to respect ourselves for, and which our children and grandchildren will appreciate in the future," concluded Rustem Gafarov.
