Two women from Kazan were poisoned by gas. This was reported by the press service of the Housing Inspectorate of Tatarstan.
The pensioners, aged 96 and 69, who lived in the same house on Lipatova Street, felt unwell and sought medical help; doctors diagnosed gas poisoning.
After examination the women refused hospitalization. An inspection showed that the cause of the poisoning was a lack of draft in the chimney with the windows closed.
Similar draft problems were found in one of the houses on Vosstaniya Street, but there were no victims there. Gas supply was suspended until the management company provided chimney inspection reports.
The Housing Inspectorate of Tatarstan is currently overseeing the fulfillment of obligations by the management companies and the gas service.
