The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan announced plans for the 2026 harvest and equipment modernization.

      In Tatarstan in 2026, agricultural growth of 1.5% is planned, including at least a 2.6% increase in food production. These figures were announced today at a meeting in the House of Government of the Republic of Tatarstan by the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic, Marat Zyabbarov. The words of the head of the ministry are quoted by the official portal of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.

      With favorable weather conditions in crop production, a harvest of 4.3 million tonnes of grain, 2.3 million tonnes of sugar beet, and 280 thousand tonnes of potatoes and vegetables is expected. It is also planned to harvest at least 1 million tonnes of oilseeds and to procure 35 centners of feed units of roughage and succulent forage per livestock unit.

      The development of land reclamation will remain one of the sector’s priorities; at the same time the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the republic will actively use state support measures, including preferential leasing programs.

      In 2025, farms in the region purchased more than 2,200 units of machinery for about 10 billion rubles, which allowed renewing 2.5% of tractors, 3.3% of grain harvesters and 4.5% of forage harvesters. The minister noted that the pace of modernization is lagging behind the norm: to maintain technical capacity, at least 10% of machinery must be renewed annually.

      In 2026 it is planned to modernize at least 3% of tractors, 4% of grain harvesters and 5% of forage harvesters. The main task now is to prepare equipment for spring field work: about 9,000 tractors, 3,300 combines and 9,600 seeding and tillage machines will need to be repaired. Restoring the entire fleet will require approximately 6.5 billion rubles. All work must be completed by March 15.

      Zyabbarov also reminded that, in accordance with a Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, target indicators for livestock farming have been set. Small farms, which ensure the region’s food security, play an important role in achieving plans for the production of milk, meat, eggs and the numbers of livestock and poultry.

      In addition, the republic continues to participate in the “Integrated Development of Rural Areas” program and the federal project “Personnel in the Agro-Industrial Complex,” which will be implemented in 2026 as well.
