Firdaniya Khannanova from the village of Begishevo creates unique handmade items
In our fast-paced age of digital technology and mass production, handmade items have become especially valuable. They retain the warmth of human hands and the boundless love woven into every loop, every stitch. It is precisely such things that Firdaniya Khannanova from the village of Begishevo creates. Her creative path began in childhood, with her mother's knitting and crochet lessons, which became a faithful companion for life. At first she knitted dresses and cardigans that drew admiring comments from those around her and warmed her loved ones. And then, as often happens with grandmothers, her world turned upside down with the birth of a granddaughter. From Firdaniya Khannanova's skilled hands there began to appear not just knitted toys, but fairytale characters brought to life in yarn. Side by side on a shelf in her home the Fox and Kolobok, the Little Hare and the Wolf, Grandpa, Grandma and Granddaughter and other heroes of beloved tales began to settle.
Then came an idea that combined her teaching experience — she has taught at the Begishevo school for more than 30 years — her love for children and the desire to give not only beauty but also usefulness. Thus unique developmental felt books were born.
Every page in Firdaniya Khannanova's books is sewn with love, every detail carefully considered. Behind the ropes, velcro and beads lies a whole world for development: a place for joyful experiments where little fingers hone the skills of fastening, lacing and logical matching. Such games develop fine motor skills, logic, memory and perseverance, which are so important for learning about the world.
"The books require completing tasks," she shares, gently turning the pages. "For example, in the book about Kolobok you can put him into the oven or take him out, and you can also help the Little Hare gather carrots in the meadow. There are many interesting tasks here; I myself like to play with them."
The talented craftswoman admits she cannot imagine life without needlework. Hours spent knitting or sewing are not wasted time for her, but time for the soul and an opportunity to bring joy to others.
