According to the results of 2025, residents of Kazan who decided not to pay for travel on the city's public transport were fined more than 400 thousand rubles.
In Kazan over the past year there were more than 170 cases of traveling without a ticket on public transport. The total amount of fines collected from violators exceeded 430 thousand rubles, the City Transport Committee reported on its Telegram channel. Work to identify dishonest passengers continues into the new year 2026: in the first working week alone administrative reports were drawn up against 17 citizens who attempted to use city transport services without paying. The fine for an unpaid trip remains unchanged at 2,500 rubles. The Committee also reminded that a passenger's refusal to present an identity document to an inspector is grounds for involving law enforcement officers. "If an employee of the control and audit service is refused documents to establish identity, the police are called," the committee reminded. Earlier it was reported that a resident of Kazan herself went to the police, saying that she had previously transferred almost 700 thousand rubles to scammers under the pretext of earning money on a cryptocurrency exchange platform. According to experts, residents of Tatarstan suffered a record loss from scammers last year — 4.5 billion rubles for the year.
