Tatarstan ranked 22nd in the rating of Russian regions for road quality.

Tatarstan ranked 22nd in the rating of Russian regions for road quality.

Compared to last year's data, Tatarstan has lost four positions. A year earlier, the share of roads meeting regulatory requirements was 65.2%. Over the year, this figure improved by 0.2%.

65.4% of the roads in the Republic of Tatarstan meet established regulatory requirements, which is 0.2% more than a year earlier. This is evidenced by the data presented in the rating by RIA Novosti. However, despite the growth of this indicator, the republic has dropped four positions in the ranking of Russian regions by the quality of the road network, taking 22nd place (Tatarstan previously held 18th position). At the same time, the indicator of the density of paved roads in Tatarstan increased over the year from 476 to 484 km per 1,000 square kilometers. This indicates that the infrastructure is developing, but apparently, either new roads do not immediately fall into the category of meeting regulations, or other regions are advancing at a faster pace, experts note. The leader of the ranking, as before, remains Moscow, where 100% of the roads meet the requirements. The top five regions also include the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (89.4%), Chelyabinsk Region (84.2%), Ingushetia (83.6%), and Krasnodar Krai (82.3%). Closing this list are the Arkhangelsk (16.9%), Kirov (27.9%), Volgograd (28.9%), and Amur (33.9%) regions. At the end of June this year, it was reported that the government of Tatarstan decided to increase the funding for the program aimed at carrying out repair work on public roads by 2.1 billion rubles. As previously reported, the total amount allocated for the construction and repair of roads increased from 39.1 billion to 41.2 billion rubles.
