The republic has seen an increase in workers with salaries exceeding 1 million rubles.
Tatarstan ranks first in the Volga Federal District in terms of the number of employees with salaries over 1 million rubles, ahead of Nizhny Novgorod and Samara regions, as well as Bashkortostan and Perm Krai. According to new data from Rosstat, the salary level of top managers in Tatarstan has noticeably increased. In April 2025, 777 employees of the republic earned more than 1 million rubles monthly – this is 2.2 times more than two years ago and 7.4 times higher than the figures from a decade ago. Among the highest-paid employees are 551 individuals with incomes of 1-2 million rubles, 95 individuals earning 2-3 million rubles, and 131 individuals, each earning over 3 million rubles (on average – 8 million), as specified by RBC Tatarstan. Experts note that these figures sharply contrast with the incomes of the majority of the republic's residents. About 11,100 Tatarstan residents still earn a salary below the minimum wage (22,400 rubles), while the most common salary range is 80-150 thousand rubles. The private sector shows particularly impressive results: the average salary of top managers reaches 8.8 million rubles, while in the public sector, the maximum salaries are more modest – around 4.2 million rubles. In addition, Tatarstan has become the leader of the Volga Federal District in the number of high-paid workers, surpassing Nizhny Novgorod region (468 individuals), Samara region (289), and Bashkortostan (243). Experts note the rapid growth in the number of super earners. Over the past two years, the number of those earning over 3 million rubles has increased by 58%, and the number of employees in the salary category of 400 thousand to 1 million rubles has grown from 2,100 to 6,500. Despite these records, high-paid employees make up less than 0.1% of the total number of workers in the republic (821,300 people). In the context of Russia, Tatarstan accounts for 1.7% of the total number of Russians with salaries over 1 million rubles (45,400 people).
