      In Kazan, a kickboxing center will open this year on Golubyatnikova Street. It will be equipped in an empty building next to Lyceum No. 170. Renovation work has begun at the site. The new center will accommodate up to 180 children and teenagers daily. They will be trained by titled athletes, including the Master of Sports of Russia in kickboxing and a coach with 30 years of experience, Rustem Zinatullin, as well as multiple winner of all-Russian, republican, and regional competitions Oleg Morozov. The mayor of Kazan, Ildar Metshin, checked the progress of the major renovation.

      "We are consistently promoting a healthy lifestyle - this is one of the most important elements of our systematic work. We have held major international sports events that have provided the city and its residents with world-class sports infrastructure. Today we are working to ensure that our children have opportunities to engage in sports as close to their place of residence as possible. One such example is the future kickboxing hall in the Novo-Savinovsky district. Specialists will create a place of attraction for hundreds of boys who will practice kickboxing and lead a healthy lifestyle," noted the mayor of Kazan, Ildar Metshin. The building that will house the sports center has been vacant for 22 years; it previously housed a shooting range. The premises will be divided into functional zones: training, gym, ring, changing rooms, showers, as well as administrative and utility rooms. For training, padded tatami mats, a boxing ring, punching bags, dummies for practicing strikes, and sports equipment will be purchased. The gym will be equipped with a stationary bike, ski and rowing simulators.

      As of today, workers have completed roofing work, installation of internal partitions, rough plastering, and floor pouring. About 30 specialists are involved daily in electrical installation, connecting water supply and sewage systems, as well as installing temporary heating. The total volume of construction work is 45% complete. The task is to complete the major renovation by June 1.

      Active work to promote kickboxing is associated with the establishment of the Kazan Kickboxing Federation last year, headed by Evgeny Morozov. After that, four sections were opened in the city: at the "Avangard" club on Lomzhinskaya Street, in the "Idel" sports school, and in boxing halls on Fuchik and Gubkin Streets. In August, the I Interregional Kickboxing Tournament for the Mayor's Cup took place, with guests including multiple world kickboxing champion, chairman of the Supreme Supervisory Council of the Kickboxing Federation of Russia, head of the Republic of Kalmykia Batu Khasikov, and European and world champion Vladimir Minaev.

      Today, about 100 teenagers are engaged in kickboxing sections in Kazan, but interest in this sport is much higher. Kazan athletes are showing commendable results in Russian and international kickboxing competitions. For example, Danil Anokhin is a bronze medalist of the Russian championship, Marcel Valishin is a multiple winner of the PFO, a prizewinner of the Russian Cup, and a prizewinner of the World Cup, Ilya Sokolov is a multiple champion of the PFO, a prizewinner of the Russian Championship, a prizewinner of the European Cup, and a two-time winner of the World Cup.

      In the new kickboxing center, children from 12 years old will be able to train. For younger kids, general physical training classes with elements of striking techniques will be organized. In the future, it is planned to open sections for taekwondo, jiu-jitsu, and karate.

      Classes will be conducted by professional and titled athletes, including the Master of Sports of Russia in kickboxing and a coach with over 30 years of experience, Rustem Zinatullin, as well as multiple winner of all-Russian, republican, and regional competitions Oleg Morozov.

      Additionally, as part of the federal project "I Choose Sport," an open-type physical culture and health complex will also be located on the territory of the lyceum. New goals for hockey and football will be installed at the site of the existing hockey box, basketball stands will be set up, and a multifunctional area for workouts will be equipped nearby.

      The inspection of the major renovation was also attended by the head of the administration of the Novo-Savinovsky and Aviastroitelny districts, Renat Shamsutdinov, the chairman of the committee for physical culture and sports of the Kazan executive committee, Linar Garipov, the head of the education department, Irek Rizvanov, and the director of the Department for the Maintenance and Service of Social Sphere Institutions of Kazan, Ilya Korotikhin.
