Minimum scores for the Unified State Exam in 2026
The Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science (Rosobrnadzor) has published the official minimum scores for the Unified State Exam for 2026, necessary for obtaining a school diploma and for admission to higher educational institutions. According to TASS, in order to receive a certificate of secondary general education, graduates must score at least 24 points in the Russian language and successfully pass basic level mathematics. The requirements for admission to universities under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia are higher. The threshold for the Russian language is set at 36 points. Among the elective subjects, the highest minimum score is established for social studies — 42 points. This is followed by computer science (40 points) and geography (37 points). For biology, physics, and chemistry, the minimum threshold is 36 points, while for history and literature, it is 32 points. To enroll with results from advanced mathematics, a minimum of 27 points must be scored, and for foreign languages — 22 points.
It is important to note that these figures represent the federal minimum for a significant portion of Russian universities. Individual federal agencies, such as the Ministry of Transport or the Ministry of Agriculture, have the right to establish their own minimum scores for the sectoral universities under their jurisdiction. Additionally, each specific university may set higher passing scores for popular programs, information about which applicants should seek on the official websites of the chosen educational institutions.
