All doping sanctions have been lifted from the All-Russian Athletics Federation.
The International Association of Athletics Federations (World Athletics) has decided to completely lift sanctions against the All-Russian Athletics Federation (VFLA) related to doping. This was announced by the Minister of Sports of Russia, Mikhail Degtyarev, on his Telegram channel. According to the minister, the VFLA successfully completed a three-year "quarantine" under the Special Conditions Program. The federation met all 34 strategic conditions and operational requirements, implemented new management standards, restructured its anti-doping efforts, and updated regional structures. "The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) and independent experts noted progress throughout the period and gave a final assessment — full compliance and exceeding the set standards," wrote Degtyarev. The minister also highlighted the work of the VFLA under the leadership of Petr Fradkov, who is the deputy chairman of the Russian Olympic Committee. "The federation demonstrates sustainable development: the management model has been strengthened, transparency has increased, financial stability has grown, the regional network has expanded, and anti-doping control indicators have improved," he added. The decision by World Athletics effectively restores the full membership of the VFLA in the international federation after years of suspension due to systemic doping violations.
