      In Tatarstan, there are currently more than 1,700 electric cars, thanks to the development of charging infrastructure and a number of previously introduced support measures. This was reported by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, German Lerner, at the session "Green Mobility: New Industrial Opportunities" during the ongoing seminar "How to Do Business with India" in Kazan, according to the press service of the relevant department. The speaker listed the measures being implemented in Tatarstan aimed at supporting owners of electric vehicles. "For several years now, it has been possible to park electric cars for free in municipal parking lots in Kazan after passing special registration in the parking permit registry on the 'Gosuslugi RT' portal. Starting in 2024, the transport tax for electric vehicle owners will be abolished. This measure will be in effect until 2027, after which the tax amount will be 50% for another two years," he noted. Additionally, a network of charging stations covering the entire republic has been created in Tatarstan, with over 300 stations in the region. According to the deputy minister, Tatarstan has successfully participated in a federal project for the development of charging infrastructure for electric cars for three consecutive years. During this time, 139 fast charging stations have been installed, attracting 260 million rubles from the federal budget. Starting in 2025, the initiative will be implemented as part of the national project "Industrial Support for Transport Mobility." Last year, 40 more charging stations were added in the republic. German Lerner also emphasized that plans include the development of electric taxis and car-sharing in Tatarstan, as well as attracting manufacturers of electric vehicles and their components to the republic.
