Six minutes to save: a child was rescued from under a snow avalanche in Kazan

      On March 18 in Kazan, a slab of dense snow fell from the roof of a private house and covered a 12-year-old boy. The child was completely buried under a snowdrift up to a meter high. An ambulance crew arrived at the scene within six minutes. The boy's friend did not hesitate — he called emergency services and asked his father for help with a shovel. The ambulance driver, Firidnant Shaekhov, immediately joined the rescue efforts. The men dug a path to the boy. Paramedics Irina Iskandarova and Mars MinneMullin examined the child: there were no visible injuries, but he was very cold and wet. In the ambulance, they removed his wet clothes and turned on the heater. After warming the boy, he was handed over to his father — hospitalization was not required.
