      Residents of Kazan will long remember the winter of 2025-2026, noted in the city's administration, calling it a true test due to the record amount of snow. Meteorologists calculated that over three months, 212 millimeters of precipitation fell, which is 60% above the norm, with January and February being the most severe. The administration reported that in just one week at the end of January, 52 millimeters of snow fell—more than the monthly norm—and in February, the snowfall was two and a half times stronger than usual. To combat the aftermath, the "Blizzard" system was introduced, and equipment worked around the clock: more than 1,100 machines and 750 workers cleared the streets in shifts of 14-16 hours. To relieve the roads, schools and other institutions were temporarily switched to remote learning. Deputy Head of the Kazan Executive Committee for Urban Improvement Igor Kulyazhev stated that the main problem was snow removal. Over the winter, 1.7 million tons of snow were removed from the streets, which is seven times more than the previous year. Snow-melting points processed almost twice as much as usual, and about 900,000 tons were sent to temporary storage sites. Additionally, to speed up the work of the equipment, an electronic ticket system was introduced, and a new liquid reagent began testing on several streets: it is almost three times cheaper than solid and effective during mild winters when the temperature does not drop below minus 7 degrees. Control over the cleaning was intensified: all municipal equipment was entered into the "City Monitor" system, and residents actively helped, with more than 5,200 calls received at the call center. Also, from January to March, more than 4,200 cars that hindered road cleaning were evacuated.

      Now, according to officials, the city is preparing for the traditional two-month sanitation cleanup to meet spring in cleanliness.
