A viewing platform with lighting will appear in Kazan Park.

      In Gorky Park in Kazan, a viewing platform will be built this year. The structure will extend 2.5 meters beyond the edge of the land and will feature built-in lighting. This was announced by Albert Shainurov, the chairman of the external improvement committee, at a staff meeting. Kazan's mayor, Ilsur Metshin, noted the demand for such viewpoints in the city. "The viewing platform in Gorky Park has been long overdue. It will provide a new perspective on the Novo-Savin district. Similar locations, like in the Yelmai Park or Fuks Garden, have already become favorites among residents and tourists. But Gorky Park has its own unique beauty, so we hope that the new platform will also become a popular spot," said Ilsur Metshin. The mayor reminded that Kazan was one of the first cities in Russia to systematically update public spaces. New approaches to landscaping in the country are just being formed, while Gorky Park began its renovation over ten years ago. Some areas already require repairs, but the park and square management maintains the site in good condition. Previously, the entrance groups were updated, including the area near the Victory monument and the main entrance to the park. Albert Shainurov explained that the main goal of the project is to create a new attraction point. It will make pedestrian connections more accessible and walks in the park more comfortable and inspiring. Large-scale improvement of the park began in 2015 as part of a republican program. In 2023-2024, the entrance group from Nikolai Ershov Street was updated. Shainurov added that an important stage was the construction of a safe staircase connecting the park with Podluzhnaya Street. Previously, it was an improvised descent. Now it is a full-fledged route that connects the park with the Kazanka embankment.
