In these spring days, city dwellers are tidying up after winter and throwing everything into garbage containers. However, starting from September 1, 2025, stricter rules for handling solid municipal waste will be in effect in Russia. It is prohibited to store items in regular containers if any side exceeds 50 centimeters. Old furniture, plumbing, window frames, and doors are all banned. Broken tiles, rebar, and remnants of concrete and bricks also cannot be left by the containers under any circumstances. Only what appears in everyday life is allowed to be thrown into yard bins: food waste, packaging, paper, and other small items. What is categorically prohibited? First of all, construction waste and bulky items: old furniture, bricks, boards, and debris from renovations. Additionally, it is not allowed to place mercury thermometers, energy-saving lamps, batteries, electronics, car tires, and any construction waste in regular containers in the yard. Such violations may result in a fine.
