Issues related to strengthening the alliance's borders are already being discussed at the highest military levels. Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army General Wiesław Kukuła held talks with the commander of U.S. Army Europe and Africa General Christopher Donahue. The main topic of the meeting was the development of a deterrence system and the increase of American troops in Poland. Special attention during the negotiations was given to the "Deep Precision Strike" program, which is considered an important element of defense. Currently, there are already between 8,000 to 10,000 American servicemen in Poland. The advanced command of the U.S. Army's V Corps operates in Poznań, elements of a tank brigade are deployed, and a missile defense system base is functioning in Redzikowo. General Christopher Donahue, who has been responsible for European and African directions since 2024, is well acquainted with the region. Previously, he commanded American units in Rzeszów after the start of the special military operation and led an airborne division during the evacuation from Afghanistan. If the Trump administration's plans are implemented, Poland's role as a military and logistical hub for the U.S. on NATO's eastern flank will be significantly strengthened.
