Alexey Pesoshin: Great attention is paid to the development of territories and the improvement of local self-government in our republic.

      Today in Kazan, a solemn event dedicated to the Day of Local Self-Government took place at the GTRK "Korston." The ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin, the State Advisor of the Republic of Tatarstan, Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation Mintimer Shaimiev, Acting Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov, Honorary Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin, Chairman of the Association "Council of Municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan" Exam Gubaidullin, and representatives of local self-government in the republic. The municipal community of Tatarstan is a large, united team of managers, civil servants, and public activists. It consists of more than 7,500 deputies of representative bodies and over 6,300 municipal employees, 914 heads of municipal formations, 522 activists of territorial public self-government councils, as well as workers in the social sphere and housing and communal services who directly address issues of vital activity on the ground. Alexey Pesoshin congratulated all workers of local self-government bodies on their professional holiday, which this year marks the 20th anniversary of local self-government in the Republic of Tatarstan. "Today, people have gathered here who, over the years, despite all the difficulties of their time, bravely took on responsibility and successfully addressed the issues of developing our cities and districts, villages and settlements, socio-economic arrangement of territories, and overall ensuring the well-being of residents. Special words of gratitude go to our veterans who are participating in today's celebration. I wish each of you good health, prosperity, and all the best," said the Prime Minister of Tatarstan. He emphasized that the celebration of the Day of Local Self-Government at the national level, the attention to the issues of municipal formations from the leadership of the country and personally from the President is a high assessment and recognition of the significance of this work and a great responsibility for the state of affairs on the ground. Alexey Pesoshin noted that local self-government forms a stable foundation for the entire system of public authority in the country, directly participates in the implementation of serious state tasks, addresses the most pressing issues of societal life, and directly shapes the quality of life of citizens. Depending on how effectively a specific rural, urban, or district administration operates, residents judge the effectiveness of the state as a whole. "In our republic, great attention is paid to the development of territories and the improvement of local self-government. Current state programs are primarily aimed at solving socio-economic and infrastructure tasks of municipal formations. Despite all modern challenges, we continue to implement programs in the field of supporting sectors of the economy, including small and medium-sized businesses, construction and modernization of social facilities, road and housing and communal services," noted the Head of the Government of Tatarstan. One of the priority tasks, according to Alexey Pesoshin, remains the further increase in the efficiency of local self-government bodies. This is precisely what the activities aimed at improving professional skills and enhancing the qualifications of personnel on the ground, stimulating best practices at the municipal level, strengthening the material and technical base of local self-government bodies, including the renovation of executive committee buildings of settlements, as well as providing municipalities with vehicles, are directed towards. Alexey Pesoshin noted the significant contribution that the Association "Council of Municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan" makes to the development of local self-government in the republic. "This year has been declared the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia in our country. The unique diversity of customs, traditions, and languages is our common invaluable heritage, which we sincerely cherish and are proud of. The most important tasks before us have been and remain the further strengthening of interethnic peace and harmony, the preservation of traditional values and the uniqueness of each people of Russia," emphasized the Prime Minister of the republic. He noted that today, a vivid example of genuine interethnic unity and brotherhood in arms is shown by the participants of the special military operation. In the republic, 2026 has been declared the Year of Military and Labor Valor. This decision was made in deep respect for all generations of defenders of the Fatherland and workers of the rear and for the purpose of preserving historical memory and strengthening civil solidarity. "Today, the main challenge for all of us is to ensure victory in the special military operation. Significant work is being carried out under your direct leadership to support military personnel and their families, provide humanitarian assistance to military units, and to the patronized cities of Lisichansk and Rubizhne. Many of you personally go to the zone of the special military operation leading humanitarian convoys. Thank you and the entire deputy corps of municipal formations for your constant support of participants and veterans of the special military operation and attention to their families," Alexey Pesoshin addressed the participants of the event. One of the most important tasks, the Prime Minister of Tatarstan called the adaptation of returning veterans of the special military operation to peaceful life – their employment and involvement in public life. In the municipal elections held in September last year, 113 veterans and participants of the special military operation were elected as deputies of local self-government.
