Ayrat Samigullin emphasized that the first criminal case has already been initiated in the Kaybitsky district of Tatarstan. He noted that every traffic accident involving underage drivers must be reported to the Investigative Committee to hold parents accountable. Each such case, he added, must be covered in the media. The figures presented at the meeting confirm the relevance of the problem. Since the beginning of the year, traffic patrol inspectors have compiled 168 reports on motorcyclists. Notably, one-third of them are minors. The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of Tatarstan has already sent an official letter to the Prosecutor's Office of the republic with information about similar traffic accidents involving children for 2025. The purpose of the appeal is to consider the issue of initiating criminal cases against the parents of young drivers. Earlier, there was a report of a case in the Kaybitsky district that likely served as a precedent. A local resident was held accountable for buying a moped for his 13-year-old son and allowing him to ride it on public roads. In the summer of 2025, the teenager drove onto the road in one of the settlements, violated the rules, and got into an accident. As a result of the traffic accident, the boy sustained serious injuries.
