The sowing has started in 11 districts of Tatarstan.

      In Tatarstan, 190 thousand hectares of winter crops have been fertilized. This is 40 percent of the plan. Perennial grasses have been fertilized on 60 thousand hectares — 20 percent of the planned volume. This was reported by the Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov at a meeting in the House of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.       Work is ongoing in all districts of the republic. On average, about 66 thousand hectares are processed per day. In the Tetyushsky district, the fertilization of perennial grasses on an area of 5.5 thousand hectares has already been completed. In the coming days, they plan to finish fertilizing the winter crops there.

      Harrowing continues — an agricultural practice that helps retain moisture in the soil. Work has begun in 41 districts. A total of 2 million 360 thousand hectares need to be closed for moisture. More than 3,600 harrowing units are involved in the farms. Their total productivity exceeds 190 thousand hectares per day.

      The sowing campaign has already begun in 11 districts. The total plan for spring sowing this year is 1 million 730 thousand hectares. Of these, 820 thousand are allocated for grain crops and 680 thousand for technical crops.

      For the current season, 440 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers have been purchased. This is an average of 74.4 kilograms of active substance per hectare. Over the past two weeks, an additional 42 thousand tons of fertilizers have arrived in the republic.

      The supply of seeds continues. Farms have already received 86 thousand units of sunflower seeds and 115 thousand of corn. The provision of seeds for sugar beets has reached 70 percent.

      Farmers have been allocated 2.4 billion rubles in state support. Selections have been announced for almost all areas that are co-financed from the federal budget. By May 1, they plan to transfer another 1.3 billion rubles. As part of preferential lending, agricultural producers have already received 126 short-term loans totaling 14.3 billion rubles and 13 investment loans for 3.3 billion rubles.

      Zyabbarov reported that approximately from May 15, farms will begin harvesting fodder. By this time, repairs to forage harvesting equipment need to be completed. The work must be finished by May 10. Commission acceptance will begin on May 12.

      For full-fledged fodder harvesting, it is necessary to restore another 215 forage harvesters, 150 self-propelled mowers, and 280 balers. The overall readiness of the equipment is 67 percent. Spare parts worth 540 million rubles have been purchased for repairs. This is about 70 percent of the need.

      In the republic, a system for supplying elite vegetable seeds for rural residents is in place. Seeds are distributed through district consumer societies and cooperatives of Tatpотребсоюз under tripartite agreements. Residents note an increase in yield due to the high quality and variety of seeds. The main part of the produce is for personal consumption. Surpluses are bought by cooperatives and sold at agricultural fairs.

      As of the end of 2025, vegetables worth 157 million rubles were purchased from the population. In 2026, 30 million rubles were allocated for these purposes. Of these, 10 million rubles were allocated for seed potatoes for the first time. This will allow the purchase of 200 tons of quality planting material, 600 kilograms of carrot and beet seeds, as well as 30 tons of onion sets. Seed potatoes began to be distributed in the republic on April 15. In May, they plan to distribute 100 thousand seedlings of cabbage.
