      At the heart of true patriotism lies a personal choice. True patriotism is not measured by the possession of a military ID. A 51-year-old resident of Zainsk, who has never served in the army by conscription, voluntarily signed a contract and went to the area of the special military operation. Today he is known by the call sign "Koschey" and performs tasks in the Kherson direction. The hero of our publication works as a driver-mechanic. Nikolai's front-line routine involves not only operating equipment but also a huge responsibility for his combat comrades. "Our task is to provide the guys with fuel, parcels, and also to guard the coastline," shares the fighter. Despite his busy schedule, the man maintains contact with his small homeland. During his short leave, he finds time to meet with volunteers who weave camouflage nets day by day. Nikolai personally visits them to express his gratitude. "We always need camouflage nets. They protect us, wear out quickly, and burn. Thank you for caring for us as if we were your own sons. The nets woven by the residents of Zainsk are reliable and durable," he addressed the volunteers. The fighter notes that the living conditions at the front are orderly: clothing and food are provided in full. The decision to sign the contract came to Nikolai in April 2023. Today, his example proves that contract service is a conscious step taken by brave hearts ready to defend the interests of the country regardless of age and past experience.
