In the Republic of Tatarstan, two local residents are accused of attempting to commit robbery on a particularly large scale.

      The investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Tatarstan have completed the investigation of a criminal case against two local residents, aged 39 and 40, depending on the role of each accused in committing crimes under Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "b" of Part 3 of Article 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted robbery on a particularly large scale), and paragraph "b" of Part 4 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft on a particularly large scale).

      According to the investigation, in April 2025, the accused, together with a person whose criminal case has been separated into a separate proceeding, decided to rob a resident of Kazan who had significant financial resources. For this purpose, they offered the man to participate in a deal for cashing out funds, and to confirm his solvency, he was asked to bring 10 million rubles to a meeting scheduled at one of the hotels on Levo-Bulachnaya Street in Kazan. The criminals planned to seize the money brought by the owner; however, two of them, along with the victim, attracted the attention of police officers. Taking advantage of this circumstance, the third participant in the attack broke the car window of the man and stole the cash lying there.
