Fire safety lesson at the school in Zainsk: evacuation of 126 people

      At the GBOU "Zainsk School No. 9 for Children with Limited Health Opportunities," a practical class on safety basics was held. Senior Inspector of the Supervisory Activities Department Rizvanova Z.T. and Head of the Zainsk Fire Department Astashina L.A. organized a fire drill for students and staff. The event included a theoretical discussion and practice of actions in case of a fire.

      At Zainsk School No. 9, where children with limited health opportunities are educated, great attention is paid to safety issues. Another preventive event was conducted by representatives of the state fire supervision and the voluntary fire society.

      The goal of the fire drill is to evacuate people during a fire, which is an organized process of individuals exiting a building to the outside or to a safe area. It is conducted when there is a threat of dangerous fire factors affecting people. The main principle that should not be forgotten by either children or adults is that human life and health are paramount.

      During the event, the fire alarm went off during school hours. Students and staff, upon hearing the alarm, began to leave the building in an organized manner. A total of 88 students participated in the drill, along with 38 teaching staff and support personnel. In total, 126 people were evacuated from the building.

      According to specialists, the evacuation was successful. All basic rules were followed: there was no panic, children moved along pre-rehearsed routes, and teachers monitored the process.

      After the practical part, the guests held a discussion with the children about fire safety. Rizvanova and Astashina provided interesting examples from life. They explained to the students how and with what one can extinguish a fire in its initial stage. Special attention was given to the topic of false alarms. The children were informed that calling the fire department as a joke or for fun is unacceptable. While dispatchers respond to a false alarm, a real fire may occur elsewhere, and someone may be left without timely assistance.

      At the end of the event, all participants were given fire safety handouts. These contained the main rules of conduct in case of a fire, emergency service numbers, and an action algorithm in a critical situation. Similar classes at School No. 9 will continue in the future to reinforce safe behavior skills among children.
