Valentina Matviyenko: "The institution of parliamentarism in Russia has come a long way."

      The Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matviyenko, congratulated the residents of Tatarstan on the Day of Russian Parliamentarism. The head of the upper house of the federal parliament sent a congratulatory telegram to the Acting Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan, Marat Akhmetov. "In 2026, it will be 120 years since the establishment of the bicameral system of the highest legislative bodies in our country," emphasized Valentina Matviyenko. "Since then, the institution of parliamentarism in Russia has come a long way, and the decisions of legislative authorities have repeatedly proven to be fateful for the Fatherland, contributing to the strengthening of its security, sovereignty, economic development, social sphere, and improving the quality of life of citizens." Valentina Matviyenko particularly noted the importance of the joint work of parliamentarians at the federal and regional levels on the platform of the Council of Legislators of the country under the Federal Assembly. "Such interaction allows us to synchronize our efforts in addressing priority state tasks and achieving national development goals set by the President of the Russian Federation.
