"Security" is coming to you!

      In Kazan, the first event "Safety in Every Yard" was successfully held, organized by the staff of the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan. In one of the yards of the Novo-Savinovsky district, it was both fun and interesting today, as well as educational. Boys and girls from nearby houses, as well as students from the nearby Gymnasium No. 155, had a rare opportunity to see firefighters, rescuers, dog handlers with service dogs, and water safety inspectors all at once. Before the show began, the children were greeted by a fairy-tale character "Shurale". Thus, the rescuers paid tribute to the memory in honor of the 140th anniversary of the famous Tatar writer Gabdulla Tukay. The costumed forest spirit became the mascot of the safety holiday, enticing schoolchildren to various thematic "attractions". Each service presented its emergency rescue equipment and tools for this noble cause, organizing a whole show for the children, where employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations demonstrated first aid techniques and skills for safe behavior on water at different stations. For the kids, firefighters even staged a small fire in an iron pan to show how effectively a small fire can be extinguished using a fire extinguisher. Of course, curious spectators were explained in detail and accessibly what actions need to be taken for this primary firefighting tool to be effective. The schoolchildren were divided into groups and went to learn about various aspects of safety. At the "water safety" station, the kids were taught how to use rescue equipment – how to throw a life ring and a special rope, better known as "Alexandrov's End", how to properly put on a life jacket, and how to provide first aid to someone rescued from the water. Specialists demonstrated on a mannequin how to properly perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, where and how to turn a hypothetical victim. The next station was "rescue". There, employees of the Search and Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Tatarstan showed the children "attractions" with emergency rescue tools, as well as other equipment necessary for saving people in distress. From the rescuers, the "yard hosts" ran to the fire truck, where they eagerly studied all the internal "stuffing", the tools needed for extinguishing fires, and fire hoses. And when the firefighters allowed the kids to "shoot" a stream of water from the fire hose, under their watchful supervision, the excitement was boundless. However, as usual, the brightest emotions from the children came from their "meeting" with the service dogs of the Kazan Search and Rescue Team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. Experienced dog handlers let their pets be "torn apart" by the children. Each schoolchild, gathering courage, could pet them on the back and shake their paws. At the end of the show, the rescuers' wards staged real circus acts, perfectly executing the commands of the dog handlers in obedience and agility skills. A surprise of the holiday was a musical flash mob. The children sang together a song based on the verses of Gabdulla Tukay "Tugan tel" ("native language"), and then took photos with the rescuers and firefighters as a keepsake. - We tried to create a real holiday for the children, - commented on the goals of the event Regina Gayazova, head of the water safety department of the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan. - In such an engaging form, we reminded the children once again of the rules of fire safety and water safety that they need to remember and follow every day. We are expanding the boundaries of promoting safe behavior. We held such an event for the first time in an ordinary yard of a big city. We started with the Novo-Savinovsky district and will continue further in all others. The fact is that during the upcoming school holidays, not all children go to health camps, where employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia teach them the basics of safety at home, in everyday life, and on the street. The goal of our new campaign is to reach those kids who will spend the summer at home, in their yards, - noted Regina Gayazova.
