Vladimir Leonov summarized the results of the Kazan Marathon in the capital of Tatarstan.

      The Minister of Sports of Tatarstan, Vladimir Leonov, commented on the results of the third and final day of the Kazan Marathon, which took place in Kazan. According to him, the competition is being held for the 12th time, and every year the organizers strive to improve the format. This year, in particular, the route was adjusted to make it more convenient for participants. Leonov noted that in terms of organization, the marathon ranks among the best in the country alongside Moscow and St. Petersburg. Additionally, holding the competition over three days posed a serious organizational challenge. In 2026, the number of participants reached 45,000, of which about 70% were guests from other regions. Athletes from 78 regions of Russia and 39 countries around the world came to Kazan. The prize fund of the competition exceeded 10 million rubles. Within the framework of the Russian championship, which takes place at the marathon, Vladimir Nikitin set a new national record in the distance of 42.2 km.
