       In the Republic of Tatarstan, since the beginning of 2026, an alarming level of workplace injuries with fatal outcomes has been registered, while supervisory authorities are increasing pressure on employers to comply with regulations.

       As reported on Monday at a press conference at the news agency "Tatar Inform" by the Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan, Elmira Zaripova, 63 reports of workplace accidents were received in the first quarter of the current year, of which 27 incidents resulted in fatalities for workers, and another 36 were classified as serious accidents that led to severe health consequences and significant loss of work capacity for the victims. At the same time, as noted by the head of the department, the quantitative indicators of workplace injuries remain consistently high and generally correspond to the level of the same period last year, when 63 accidents were also recorded in the first quarter of 2025. According to RBC, Zaripova also provided statistics on supervisory activities, emphasizing that the labor inspection is operating in an intensified mode. A total of 81 inspections of compliance with labor protection legislation were conducted in the region during the reporting period, resulting in 156 mandatory orders for the elimination of identified violations issued to business entities. A total of 51 criminal protocols have already been initiated against violators. The minister warned that the penalties applied to violators are quite sensitive for businesses, and this concerns not only large monetary fines but also such a severe measure as the administrative suspension of a company's activities for up to 90 days, which is applied in cases of repeated violations in the field of labor protection. It was reported the day before that a resident of Tatarstan gave 6 million rubles to fraudsters while taking out loans under the dictation of "NAC employees."
