A memorial to the heroes of the Special Military Operation has been opened in the Laishevsky District, featuring the names of 195 fighters.

He was an assault soldier, bravely fighting in Selidovo, awarded the Order of Courage. He died last year. "Maybe I will cover some boy with my body — those were his words when he left. I am not the only one, there are thousands of us mothers. I am proud that my son fought for the Motherland," said Raisa Mikhaleva. Behind the white canvas are hundreds of names of fighters who gave their lives for the Motherland. Today in the Laishevsky district is a significant event: the opening of a memorial to participants of the special military operation. The sketch and concept of the monument were developed in collaboration with participants of the special military operation and veterans of combat actions. The charitable foundation "Sokrovennoe" helped to realize the idea. "After reviewing the project, we did not hesitate for a moment and made a positive decision to contribute a small amount to this initiative," said Alexander Tarasov, director of the charitable foundation "Sokrovennoe." The bas-relief of the modern soldier is made of granite. The height of the figure is about two meters. It features the modern equipment of a participant in the special military operation. Next to the stele is a slab of black granite, which immortalizes the names of the fallen heroes from Laishevo. To date, there are 195 of them. Today, wives, mothers, and fathers of the fighters, whose names are forever inscribed in the history of the district and the country, came to honor the memory of the heroes. Each one gazes with reverence and love at the letters on the granite. "To the wives who are here, whose sons and husbands are out there on the front line — I bow low to you," said Alexander Lapin, Hero of Russia, Colonel General, Deputy Chairman of the Republican Organization "Heroes of Tatarstan." "We must be strong, powerful, we must be together. The most important thing is that we must raise a new generation of defenders of the Fatherland," said Ildus Zaripov, head of the Laishevsky municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan.

      The memorial is a symbol of respect for the heroes who, like their ancestors during the Great Patriotic War, stood up to defend the Motherland.
