In 2026, graduates will be able to retake the Unified State Exam in three subjects.
Graduates of Russian schools in 2026 will be able to retake the Unified State Exam (USE) in two mandatory subjects and one elective subject. This was reported by Senator Ayrat Gibatdinov to RIA Novosti. According to him, retakes will be available for the Russian language, mathematics, and one subject of choice. "Graduates should remember the possibility of retaking the USE. In 2026, students will be able to retake both mandatory subjects (Russian and mathematics) and one elective subject on reserve days, July 8 and July 9, or September 4, 8, and 25," the parliamentarian noted. The senator reminded that when retaking, the previous exam result is annulled, even if the new score is lower. In this regard, he urged graduates to carefully consider their decision. Furthermore, Gibatdinov pointed out that retaking may affect the deadlines for submitting documents to higher educational institutions. "It should be taken into account that in the case of a retake, the time for receiving the final exam result is also significantly shifted, which means that it is necessary to promptly submit documents for admission to universities in the shortest possible time," emphasized the senator.
