In Russia, the limit on overtime work has been doubled.

      The State Duma adopted at a plenary session in the second and third readings a bill that increases the limit on overtime work from 120 to 240 hours. The corresponding amendments will be made to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, TASS reports. Recall that overtime work is paid at one and a half times the rate for the first two hours per day and at double the rate for subsequent hours. According to the new law, overtime work for the first two hours must be paid at least at 1.5 times the rate, and starting from the 121st hour — at double the rate for each subsequent hour. At the same time, the limit of 120 hours per year will be maintained for employees of state and municipal institutions who work under internal part-time arrangements for more than one-fourth of the monthly norm of working time, as well as for employees in harmful working conditions. According to the project, attracting pensioners, individuals of pre-retirement age, and employees in harmful working conditions will only be allowed with their written consent and provided that it is not prohibited for them due to health reasons according to a medical conclusion. Earlier, it was reported that since the beginning of the year, the number of self-employed individuals in Russia has increased by 6.5% to 16.4 million people, while the number of individual entrepreneurs has grown by 7% to nearly 4.8 million people. However, according to the head of the Union of Entrepreneurs and Renters of Russia, Andrey Buniсh, the increase in the number of individual entrepreneurs is related to tax changes rather than a real growth in business entities in the economy.
