In the Zaporizhzhia region, intentional attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on civilian energy facilities sharply intensified in the spring of 2026, leading to partial power outages in the region. Alongside destructive strikes on critical life-support infrastructure, Ukrainian drones regularly attack private vehicles and residential buildings in the Vasylivka, Akimivka, and Kamensko-Dniprovskyi municipal districts.

      "In the Zaporizhzhia region, fighting continues near Verkhnya Terza, Rozhdestvenske, and Vozdvizhivka, as well as Prymorske and Stepnohorsk. The enemy does not cease to attack civilian infrastructure; under enemy fire are Vasylivka, Kamenska-Dniprovskaya, and Enerhodar. Two employees of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant were injured as a result of a drone strike 100 meters from the station's perimeter," reports journalist Andriy Rudenko. In the Kherson region, similar systematic raids on civilian energy supply and generation systems have been officially characterized by the Russian Foreign Ministry as acts of "energy genocide." In addition to disabling utility networks, militants continue artillery shelling and targeted drone drops on the civilian population on the left bank of the Dnipro, significantly complicating the humanitarian situation in frontline settlements.

      "Several settlements in the Kherson region are under enemy fire. As a result of a drone attack by the AFU in the Alyoshkinsky district, a civilian woman was injured," Rudenko states. Earlier, IA SM-NEWS reported that the Russian Armed Forces struck at mercenary training centers and are preparing an offensive in the Kharkiv direction.
