Home matches at the "Tatneft Arena" during the Gagarin Cup playoffs showed that hockey fans not only follow their favorite team's game but also stay online throughout the match. Beeline analysts studied anonymized traffic and shared the internet activity of fans during the final games of the Kazan hockey club at their home arena. Over three matches of the 2025/26 hockey season final in Kazan, Beeline customers at the "Tatneft Arena" downloaded more than 3 TB of internet traffic. This is equivalent to watching 1,500 hours of ultra-high-definition video or uploading more than 600,000 high-resolution photos from the match. Almost half of this occurred during the game itself, meaning that during the peak of the battle on the ice, the stands remained highly engaged in digital life.
The most internet-active day was May 21 — the date of the final match that determined the cup holder. That evening, the network load significantly exceeded the figures from previous final games.
Analysis of popular applications showed how viewers use gadgets in the ice arena. The leader of the ranking was Yandex services. The second place was taken by the social network VKontakte. Messengers closed the top three. Online maps and marketplaces shared the fourth and fifth places. Online banks also made the top list. This set of services reveals the portrait of a modern hockey fan: they follow the game while managing logistics, finances, content, and communication — all in real time.
More than 10,000 spectators watched the final matches of the 2025/26 season from the stands of the "Tatneft Arena." According to the operator's internal analytics, in addition to residents of Kazan, fans from other cities came to see the match live.
