The sports director for diving of the Russian Federation of Water Sports, bronze medalist of the Olympic Games Dmitry Dobroskok commented on the results of the Russian Championship in diving, which took place in Kazan, and specifically noted the level of organization of the competitions. The tournament was held at the Palace of Water Sports in the capital of Tatarstan from May 15 to 20. "I would like to highlight the high level of organization in Kazan. The excellent pool at the Palace of Water Sports is always ready to host competitions at the highest level. And we, as organizers, do everything to make the Russian Championship a celebration for athletes, coaches, and spectators," Dobroskok said in a conversation with TASS. He also emphasized that the championship became the main qualifying event for the European Championship and was accompanied by intense competition, in which young athletes particularly stood out. According to him, the victories of 14-year-old Miroslav Kiselev and 16-year-old Alexandra Kedrina became the main sensation of the tournament. They previously won the individual competitions from the 10-meter platform and also became champions in the mixed synchronized diving. "This year, the Russian Championship became the main qualifying event for the European Championship. The team did a lot of work before the start, there were tense finals, and the athletes showed beautiful dives. Of course, the main sensation of the championship was our young talents Alexandra Kedrina and Miroslav Kiselev, who managed to win in the individual dives from the 10-meter platform. Excellent results were also shown by Nadezhda Trifonova, Victoria Kazantseva, and Anastasia Chistyakova. We see that juniors are already getting involved in the fight for the podium, and that we have a strong reserve in our team," he added.
