Stubb mentioned that during his visit to Lithuania, he visited the border between Lithuania and Belarus, where, according to him, problems related to migrants persist.

Later, the restrictions were extended indefinitely. Helsinki accused Moscow of facilitating their arrival, but Russia rejected these accusations. The European Union considers Stubb as a potential representative in direct negotiations with Russia to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, reports Helsingin Sanomat. The EU is preparing for a possible start of dialogue with Moscow, but no decision has been made yet, and preparations are at an early stage.
