This opinion was shared by the CEO of the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLC) Mikhail Parnev, whose words are quoted by "Vedomosti." He added that the Kazan Aircraft Plant (KAZ) has already launched a second production line and is preparing to launch a third. Earlier, he confirmed that the airline S7 wants to purchase 100 aircraft of this modification, produced in Tatarstan. At the moment, Parnev clarified, they are working on the technical specifications and want to sign a firm contract for the first batch of Tu-214 this year.
— It is expected that the first 10 aircraft will be delivered to the customer (S7) in a version with a separate flight engineer seat, while the others will be in the standard configuration now — commander and co-pilot, — said the CEO of GTLC.
He also noted that it is necessary to expand the fleet of aircraft to increase aviation mobility to 130 million passengers. Moreover, one aircraft is assembled over the years, so the only way to restore the industry is to gradually move into serial production.
Earlier, it was reported that the Kazan Aircraft Plant launched the production of Tu-214 aircraft.
