A State Duma deputy proposed to increase the annual vacation to 35 days.
Deputy of the State Duma Nikolai Novichkov proposed to increase the standard duration of annual paid leave from 28 to 35 calendar days. He announced this to TASS. The parliamentarian explained that the current system effectively reduces the time for full rest due to weekends that fall within the vacation period. Novichkov noted that an additional week of rest would help compensate for such "lost" days. At the same time, in his opinion, it is necessary to maintain the possibility of dividing vacation into parts throughout the year. The deputy believes that increasing the duration of vacation will help working Russians fully recover and reduce the risk of professional burnout. Currently, the standard annual paid leave in Russia is 28 calendar days. For certain categories of workers, an extended vacation is provided – for example, citizens with disabilities are entitled to at least 30 calendar days of rest. One part of the vacation according to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation must be at least 14 calendar days, which automatically includes at least four weekends.
