"Based on the results of this conversation, it can be said that Alexander Shokhin will indeed become the new commissioner for entrepreneurs' rights, while retaining his position as president of the RSPP," Peskov informed (quote from TASS).
Upd. (13:33): In his conversation with Putin, Shokhin called the "transfer of the ombudsman's function from a purely state level to the level of <...> a public-state institution" the optimal option. According to the head of the RSPP, the state should participate in the activities of the relevant autonomous non-profit organization as a founder. Other founders will be leading business associations – in addition to the RSPP, these include the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, "Business Russia," and "Support of Russia." The business ombudsman himself, Shokhin clarified, should permanently head the supervisory board of this NGO.
In addition, the head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs proposed to "freeze" the business ombudsman's right to suspend municipal authorities' decisions for six months by filing petitions in court for their cancellation. Since 2012, the post of commissioner for the protection of entrepreneurs' rights in the Russian Federation has been held by Boris Titov. The position has been vacant since June 22, 2022.
