Employees of the Migration Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tatarstan and the regional FSB of Russia, stopped the activities of an organized group suspected of organizing illegal migration and abusing official powers, reported the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Irina Volk. According to her, the group members forged fake documents for renting housing and employment of foreign citizens, which were then used to legalize migrants. The alleged organizers of this criminal scheme are citizens of one of the neighboring countries. They advertised their illegal services on social media, collected documents, and distributed the funds received. The group also included previously convicted Russians who registered foreigners in so-called "rubber" apartments and entered into fictitious employment contracts with them. According to available data, over 2,700 migrants were illegally legalized in this way over two years. Investigative authorities have initiated a criminal case under Articles 285 and 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Five individuals involved in the case have been placed under house arrest. Work is underway to identify all accomplices in the illegal activities. It was previously reported that the former head of the precinct department "Tankodrom" confessed to receiving bribes from foreigners.
