The long-awaited summer and vacations are a carefree time for the young residents of the Verkhneuslon district, but at the same time, they are a serious headache for adults, law enforcement, and everyone who, by virtue of their duty, must protect children. Currently, the operational and preventive event "Attention - Children!" is ongoing, within which actions and raids involving the traffic police are taking place. We spoke with the head of the traffic police department of the intermunicipal department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Verkhneuslonsky," Ruslan Safiullin, about how this work is progressing. "As of early June this year, 117 traffic accidents involving minors have been registered on the roads of Tatarstan: three children died, and 124 were injured. Fortunately, our district is calm in this regard, but there are many children who violate the rules. We try to reach out to them and their parents, but unfortunately, not everyone understands," says Ruslan Radikovich. The day before, traffic inspectors detained another teenager on an ATV. The boy was riding the impressive vehicle through the center of Verkhny Uslon. The outcome was predictable — the vehicle was sent to a special parking lot, and administrative materials were drawn up against the teenager, which will be reviewed by the commission for juvenile affairs. The parents will also be held accountable. Safiullin reminds: do you want to buy your child a pit bike or motorcycle? First, study the rules — this is a matter of safety and compliance with the law. You can only operate a moped, light ATV, or motorcycle with an engine capacity of up to 125 cubic centimeters and a power of no more than eleven kilowatts from the age of sixteen and with an A1 license. A motorcycle with an engine over 125 "cubes" can only be driven from the age of eighteen and with an A category. It is strictly forbidden to ride motorcycles without a license, to go out on public roads with pit bikes (their place is closed tracks, motocross tracks, fields, or forests), and to hand over control to someone without a license. The fine for driving without a license for those who are already sixteen is from five to fifteen thousand rubles. If the child is under sixteen, the parents face a thirty thousand ruble fine for handing over control. And if an accident occurs, the consequences can be much more serious, up to criminal liability. Parents are given simple advice: do not buy motorcycles until the child reaches the required age and obtains a license, enroll them in a motorcycle school for safe training, and constantly monitor where and how the child rides — only in permitted places. However, children can get into trouble not only as drivers but also as passengers in cars. "The main causes of accidents are often speeding, crossing into oncoming traffic, not using seat belts, incorrect speed choice not only in normal conditions but also in adverse weather, as well as driving under the influence," noted Safiullin. It should be remembered: anyone who drives any vehicle is a participant in road traffic and must know and comply with the rules. When driving at night, it is essential to indicate oneself with reflective elements. There are fines for transporting children without special restraint devices: for drivers — five thousand rubles, for officials — fifty thousand rubles, for legal entities — up to two hundred thousand rubles. Children over twelve years old must wear seat belts. "During school vacations, it is necessary to regularly remind children of the rules of behavior on the roads. Monitor them and do not allow them to use SIM and other modern technology independently. We talk about this at all parent meetings, events, and competitions. Our employees visit educational institutions, labor collectives, and school camps, showing videos that depict tragedies involving children. This is done so that everyone understands: the price of risk is the life and health of your children," concluded Ruslan Safiullin.
