Vladimir Putin stated at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum about Russia's desire for a prompt peaceful resolution to the Ukrainian crisis, expressing hope that the end of hostilities would bring relief to both sides. The Russian leader called the legitimacy of Ukrainian signatories in strict accordance with the constitution of their country a key condition for concluding a historic agreement. The head of state emphasized that Russian troops are currently advancing along the entire front line, and the current situation is not favorable for Kyiv. While Russia insists on the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from four new regions, the Ukrainian side still rejects any "territorial concessions."
