"Today, there are two categories of AI users: those who have already integrated Chinese models into their processes, and those who will do so in the next couple of years; like once with clouds, smartphones, or social networks — at first, it looks like a niche story for enthusiasts, and then it becomes the new norm; however, and this is very important, we have every chance for the development and application of Russian models; however, as was reasonably noted at the SPIEF, we are lagging by 6-9 months primarily due to a lack of hardware — this is currently our key challenge," emphasized Lobushkin. A telling example of this shift towards Asian leadership was OpenAI's withdrawal from the British data center project due to the exorbitantly high cost of electricity, which in the UK exceeds the EU average by 125%. This proves that in the new geo-economy of AI, it is not loud slogans and presentations that win, but real access to cheap energy and computing power.
