The III Festival of National Theaters of Russia has opened in Chelny.
The III Festival of National Theaters of Russia has started in Naberezhnye Chelny. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan. The opening ceremony took place the day before at the Russian Drama Theater "Masterovye." In the same theater, in the evening, the troupe of the Gornomari Drama Theater presented the tragic farce "Levsha" – the premiere of this theatrical season. A total of more than 30 events are planned as part of the festival, including performances of theatrical productions. A rich professional program is provided for the participants. During the opening ceremony, the Minister of Culture of Tatarstan, Irada Ayupova, stated that this year is marked by the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and is rich in significant anniversaries: the 120th anniversary of the Tatar theater, which grew out of the troupe "Saiyar," as well as the anniversaries of its co-founders – Gabdulla Tukay and Gabdulla Kariyev. Irada Ayupova also thanked the Ministry of Culture of Russia for its "colossal" support of infrastructure and event projects, reminding that, thanks in part to federal assistance, three new theater venues have appeared in Naberezhnye Chelny. She also read a greeting from the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Olga Lyubimova, on the occasion of the festival's start in Tatarstan.
The festival events will take place in various locations of the Autograd for more than a month – until July 28.
