      As of the first quarter of 2026, more than 73,000 sellers from Tatarstan have registered on the largest marketplaces in the country, according to the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan. This is a 5.1% increase compared to the same period last year. The development of the platform economy remains a key factor in structural changes and the implementation of digital solutions. The largest number of regional sellers is represented in Kazan (over 28,000), Naberezhnye Chelny (8,900), Zelenodolsk (2,900), Nizhnekamsk (2,500), and Almetyevsk (2,400). According to AKIT, residents of Tatarstan most often spend on food, followed by household goods, digital and household appliances, clothing and footwear, with auto parts rounding out the top five categories. Additionally, according to the agency's data, the number of online sellers from the republic increased by almost 6% by the end of 2025, totaling about 72,000. Since the end of 2020, their number has increased 55 times. The Ministry of Economy of Tatarstan, together with its subordinate institutions, is implementing a set of support measures for SMEs, including in the internet trading segment. The measures are provided within the framework of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy" and include preferential loans, leasing, guarantee support, with some tools based on the principles of partnership (Islamic) financing. Businesses also have access to a package of non-financial measures: from training to export activities.
