      In Kazan this year, five projects for the improvement of public spaces will be implemented. The total funding will amount to 1.854 billion rubles, reported Igor Kulyazhev, chairman of the city's external improvement committee, at a business Monday meeting in the executive committee. The largest amount of funds – 1.5 billion rubles – will be allocated from the republican budget for the first section of the third phase of the Lower Kaban Lake embankment. A new walking line will be created here, stretching 1.5 km from the monument to Sh. Marjani to M. Nuriyev Street, which will connect previously improved sections into a single embankment. According to Kulyazhev, about 60% of the construction work has been completed. As part of the federal project "Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment," the following will also be improved: the entrance group of Lenin Garden from the side of the Alexander Butlerov monument (80 million rubles); the first phase of the observation platform in Gorky Park with a view of the Kazanka River (57 million rubles); the fourth phase of the inclusive boulevard on Serova Street (165.4 million rubles); the first phase of the "Tebriz" square at the intersection of Dekabristov and Vostaniya Streets (52 million rubles). Commenting on Igor Kulyazhev's report, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin cited the "Tebriz" square project as an example. According to the mayor, the initial concept was revised after several meetings with residents: instead of the planned playground in the square, it was decided to create a space for quiet relaxation.

      "Not all wishes can be fulfilled, but the principle is the same – the mood of the majority is taken into account unconditionally," emphasized Metshin.
