Surgeons at the Nizhnekamsk District Hospital restored a patient's hearing by closing a hole in her eardrum with a fragment of her own tissue. This was reported on social media by the head of the Ministry of Health of Tatarstan, Almir Abashev. The material for the operation was taken from an area behind the patient's ear. The doctors used endoscopic equipment, which allowed them to avoid incisions. Tympanoplasty is indicated in cases of chronic inflammation when a hole appears in the eardrum.
