      Since the beginning of the navigation season, more than 113,000 passengers have used river transport in Tatarstan. This is 5.4% more than in the same period last year. This was reported by the Minister of Transport and Road Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, Farit Kha nifov, at the "River" forum in Cheboksary. The forum is dedicated to the development of inland waterways and river transport in Russia and is taking place in the capital of Chuvashia — Cheboksary. As noted by Farit Kha nifov, river routes are most popular among residents and tourists heading to Bolgar and Sviyazhsk. Trips to Kamskoye Ustye and Naberezhnye Chelny are also in demand. In the future, the route network along the Volga and Kama rivers is planned to be expanded to include stops in Zelenodolsk, Rybnaya Sloboda, Sukhoi Bersu, Krasny Yar, Mamadysh, and Mendeleevsk. Currently, river transport in the republic operates on 12 socially significant routes, which are subsidized from the Tatarstan budget. In addition, tour operators organize cruises and excursion trips along the Volga and Kama rivers. The fleet of Tatarstan consists of 22 passenger vessels. It includes four high-speed hydrofoils "Meteor" of project 2020, three restored vessels of project 342E, as well as the vessel "Voskho d-51" of project 352.
