The labor veteran Daniya Davletshina has passed away.

      We regret to inform you that veteran of labor and public service, Secretary of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the TASSR from 1979 to 1990, deputy of four convocations of the Supreme Soviet of the TASSR, Daniya Salikhovna Davletshina, passed away at the age of 93, whose labor path was inextricably linked with her native Tatarstan.

      Daniya Salikhovna was born on March 3, 1934, in the city of Chistopol, and rose from a rural school teacher to the Secretary of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the TASSR. She began her career in 1955 after graduating from Kazan State Pedagogical Institute as a biology and geography teacher at the Sredne-Tiganskaya secondary school in the Alekseevsky district, later being elected the first secretary of the Alekseevsky district Komsomol committee. For about fifteen years, Daniya Salikhovna worked in the Laishevsky district, first as the chairman of the executive committee of the district council of deputies, then as the first secretary of the district party committee. During her leadership, crucial issues for the district's development were resolved: roads were built, new production facilities were erected, and residential and social facilities were constructed.

      Daniya Salikhovna was elected as a deputy of four convocations of the Supreme Soviet of the TASSR, and in December 1979, she was elected Secretary of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the TASSR. As a deputy, Daniya Salikhovna frequently met with voters, actively worked with citizens' appeals, helped thousands of Tatarstan residents resolve their pressing issues, and became the developer and initiator of many socially significant laws. Under her leadership, the work of the permanent commissions of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet was intensified. Addressing issues of political and legal support for the processes occurring in the republic, Daniya Salikhovna laid the foundations for the further democratic development of the republic and the improvement of citizens' living standards.

      Thanks to Daniya Salikhovna, a women's movement was revived in the republic, and thousands of women's councils began operating throughout the republic. For many years, leading the republican women's council, Daniya Davletshina addressed issues related to the health protection of mothers and children, improving working conditions for women employed in all enterprises of the republic, and the moral upbringing of the younger generation.

      Daniya Salikhovna's significant contribution to the development of the republic and her many years of fruitful work were recognized with numerous state and government awards - the Order of "Duslyk" (2024), medals "In Memory of the 1000th Anniversary of Kazan" (2005), "For Valorous Labor" (2009), "100 Years of the Formation of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic" (2019), Honorary Certificate of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the TASSR (1960), Honorary Certificate of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR (1989), Letter of Thanks from the President of the Republic of Tatarstan (2004), and other state awards.
