A pensioner lost more than 3 million rubles
The Chistopol city prosecutor's office approved the indictment in the criminal case against two residents of Tatarstan. They are accused of large-scale fraud. The victim of the criminals was a pensioner from Chistopol, who lost over 3 million rubles. According to the investigation, in September 2025, unknown individuals offered one of the accused through a messenger to become a "courier" to steal money from an elderly resident of Chistopol. The man agreed and involved his acquaintance in the criminal scheme. The accomplices, acting on the organizer's instructions, contacted the pensioner and convinced her to hand over the money to the "courier." The criminals used a standard deception scheme: they informed the woman that transferring funds abroad needed to be declared; otherwise, she would face criminal liability.
The frightened pensioner handed over more than 3 million rubles to the accomplices. After receiving the money, the "couriers" transferred it to the organizer of the criminal scheme. For participating in the theft, one of the accused received a reward of 10,000 rubles. Currently, the criminal case has been sent to court for consideration on the merits.
