Honeymoon with a secret: a counselor couple from Tatarstan will get married in August

      Activists of the pedagogical student detachment, Egor Ivanov and Ekaterina Shapovalova from Kazan, will get married in August. The young man shared their love story with "Tatar-inform" on Family, Love, and Fidelity Day. "We both studied at Kazan Federal University, were classmates, and participants in the student pedagogical detachment, working as counselors at the children's health camp 'Chayka' in Nizhnekamsk. I worked as a senior counselor, while she was just trying her hand at this profession. It was at the camp that our relationship began, which continued. Three years later, I proposed at a major regional event for student detachments. It was at the closing ceremony, on stage in front of a thousand spectators," recalls Egor.

      The young people graduated from university two years ago and are now working. Ekaterina works at the Kazan city hall, while her fiancé is the head of the children's camp. They still participate in student detachment events, but now as speakers and experts in the field of children's recreation. Working in student detachments will be remembered for a lifetime, the agency's interlocutor asserts. "I spent five years of my student life in student detachments. At first, I was just a participant, then I led a direction and worked in the regional branch. I was drawn to working with children. I realized that it was more interesting than my chosen specialty. Working in student detachments gave a significant boost to my professional development. Now I manage an entire children's camp for 450 children," he explained.

      The young people are eagerly awaiting the end of summer, when they will get married and embark on a romantic trip. "Where we will go – my fiancée doesn't know yet; I'm preparing a surprise. I will inform her about it at the wedding or the day before," shared Egor.

      In the last five years, 51 young families have formed in the student detachments of Tatarstan. Four more weddings are planned by the end of 2026 for couples who met through participation in the labor movement.
